Where do the Cherry Hill Chiefs play?
The Cherry Hill Chiefs play in Cherry Hill. Our home field is the Cherry Hill Rotary Field located at 540 E Evesham Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

When is the season?
The Chiefs compete in both spring and fall South Jersey Men’s Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL) seasons. The spring season runs from April to August. The fall season runs from September to October.

When are the games?
Games are held on Sunday mornings at 9am. Rainout reschedules can vary but are often made up with double headers on Sunday. To stay sharp, many players compete in 18+ mid-week games. These are optional and are typically played on Wednesday evenings in the summer.

How long are the games?
We play one 9 inning game each week, with a time limit of 3 hours. Double headers are 7 innings with a time limit of 2.5 hours each.

How old do I have to be to play in the South Jersey Men’s Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL)?
To play in the South Jersey Men's Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL), players need to be at least 18+ to play in the SJMSBL. However, the Chiefs are actively focused on recruiting players 34 and over.

What is the competition like?
In the 35+ league, most players have high school or college experience. Pitchers typically throw anywhere from 55-75 MPH. In the 18+ league, the skill level is typically higher.

What type of bats are used?
Only wood bats are legal in South Jersey Men’s Senior Baseball League (SJMSBL).

What are the rules?
We play standard baseball rules except for lineup lengths and substitutions. All players are eligible to hit, though we try not to exceed 11 or 12 batters. There are free substitutions in the field.

When are practices?
Indoor practices are held from December to March with the hope of being outdoors before opening day in April. Throughout the season players are encouraged to join the mid-week team to stay sharp.

Are there tryouts?
Typically, we invite interested players to join us at practice or a game to see if we will be a fit for each other.

How much money does this cost to play?
Players are responsible to contribute to offset costs from league dues, insurance, field fees, uniforms, training facility reservations, and umpires. It is approximately $400 a year.
